MY BACKGROUND

I’ve always had a desire to develop myself and a passion for exploration. Early in my career I recognised counselling offers the potential for change. It gave the support I needed, at various times in my life, when facing significant challenges like health diagnoses, relationship changes and loss.

 

Speaking with someone not invested in the outcomes, always gives me the freedom to explore my feelings and options.

I have many years of experience working in education with both adolescents and adults, as a teacher and mentor. I've supported individuals with mental health diagnoses as well as physical and learning disabilities.

 

My bug for exploration led to me to live and work abroad, in cultures very different to my own. There are so many ways to live, alternative belief systems, languages and cultures. It's taught me to respect and value diversity in every aspect of life.

My passion for exploration is now focused on self-development and understanding the power of the mind, through professional development.

 

For the past 18 years I’ve practised meditation and mindfulness. While living and working in Australia, I studied psychology, making meditation the theme of my final research project.

 

I continue to develop my understanding of mindfulness practices and now work in counselling, assisting others in their journey of self-discovery.

Mountainous Landscape

I love the outdoors, being in wild places and I’ve been a diver, trekker, and camper most of my life. I love heading out every day for walks with my dog and finding new places to explore.

 

Life is mysterious and wonderful. I'd love to share your journey of self-discovery, by providing you time and space to explore your own inner world, develop your self-awareness and realise the potential for growth and change.

  • Senior Professional Member (No. 1328) of the Association for Counselling and Online Therapy
